Gordon and his debut, Robert Gordon with Link Wray, is arguably as good an LP, as any of the rock'n'roll roots music it so carefully paid tribute to. This raw and compelling King Biscuit Flower Hour recording was made in Philadelphia in , while Gordon was on tour to promote his RCA Records debut, Rock Billy Boogie/10(2).

Oct 20,  · The LP (Fresh Fish Special) sounds great, but a little 70s sounding, sonically. The first Gordon/Wray record (self titled) sounds better more tubey, like a nicely done 60s record. Otherwise, Fresh Fish Special doesn't stray especially far from the sound or direction of Gordon's debut. Link Wray returns as Gordon's lead guitarist, and as on the first LP he's in fine form, though he doesn't get to offer up as tough a sound as one might wish (many of the tunes are too low-key to carry the full weight of Wray's full-on Price: $
